a telecollaborative project with the kindergarten and grade one
teachers and students of St. Monica School

For their professional development growth plans for 2002-2003, all of the eight kindergarten and grade one teachers at St. Monica decided to focus on making the process of learning to read more visible in their classes - visible to each other, to the parents, and to the students. This meant sharing ideas, philosophy, pedagogy with each other. It meant sharing information with parents. It meant helping the students become aware of the process and the language so that they could express their understanding of how they are learning to read.
