The four grade 1 teachers have collaborated in relational work
as part of the "Professional Learning School" designation for
St. Monica/St. Mary Schools for 2002 - 2003. Following is part
of their vision about how grade one children learn to read. They share
a general time-line of what happens at particular times of the
year, strategies for parents, resource lists, a glossary of
literacy terms, and assessment tools used.
